- Now Serving: Virginia
Description
The Speech and Language Center was founded in 2007 by Lora Nalberczinski, and began as a one-woman show in a tiny orange office under a health food store. Our community shared their needs, and we strived to meet them. Today, the Center continues to grow and serve the greater Harrisonburg/Rockingham area. Our highly trained staff of professional, licensed therapists are ready to serve you and your family's unique needs. At The Speech & Language Center, we pride ourselves on our collaborative approach to therapy, drawing upon evidence based and innovative techniques to create a treatment program that is carefully tailored to each clients' current abilities and treatment goals. In a caring, relaxed, and fun environment, we motivate and encourage each person to achieve his or her peak potential. Because every child and family's needs and interests are different, treatment plans can include a large array of different goals. A family's input on creating goals for the treatment plan is of utmost importance so that services can be as meaningful and successful as possible for an individual. With that said, some children's treatment may focus more on behavior support, some on skill goals, and most a combination of both. This is often the case as challenging behaviors and skill deficits are so closely related.
